How can I get wavy hair without using a curling iron or curling shampoo?

I'm not allowed to use a curling iron and curling shampoo doesn't work on my straight, jet-black hair. I'm an Indian; I shampoo my hair twice a week. I want the curls that the actress Preity Zinta has in Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, at the Black Beast scene. If yohaven't watched it, check YouTube: http://youtube.com/watch?v=GfRoM3UGK30%26amp;m鈥?/a>

Then, put the timing to 5:23.How can I get wavy hair without using a curling iron or curling shampoo?
I know everyone else has suggested braiding your hair or wrapping while wet, but I don't think that's what you're looking for. I watched the video and I think cutting your hair in LONG layers (only layered near the bottom) will give you the result you want. Having layers, will make using styling aids easier. Once cut, try using a blow dryer and round metal brush on the ends to help them curl. I hope this helps.

P.S. I am not Indian, but I did watch a movie once with the first male character shown in the video clip. He was an undercover general attending a college. Though I don't know the name of the movie, or was able to watch the entire film, what I saw was good. How can I get wavy hair without using a curling iron or curling shampoo?
Ok wash your hair normally with your usual products then dont dry your hair but braid or plait your hair. Do about 4 braids or plaits. One at the front left, one at the back left, one at the front right and one at the back right. Then spray hairspray over the top of that. Go to sleep with all your plaits in and then take them out in the morning. You should have nice waves. You may need to brush your hair lightly though and then put on some more hair spray to hold it in place.
not trying 2 be rude but if u want wavy hair so bad by a wig. :)
BRAID YOUR HAIR WHILE IT'S STILL WET. WHEN DRY WILL BE NICE AND WAVY.
Go back in time before you were born and hook your mom up with a black man. Then in the future you will be born with wavy hair.
When your hair is wet, twist it up and around little pieces of a rag or tie up sections of your hair in little buns - wait til they're dry, spray hair spray on them and take them out.
Try a plug socket
Can you blow dry your hair? If you use a curling brush, you might be able to get your hair to be wavy. And tie different strands of your hair in small buns (not ridiculously tight, because I understand that it would hurt) when it's wet and sleep on it.
you need to curl your hair with heat actived styling.

or braid your wet hair

in many braids, not just two,

use a setting form or setting lotion/mouse

that sould give you some curl for the day
Braiding your hair wet will work. Taking hair bands and rolling small sections of hair and pinning them up with a hair band while wet and taking it down in a couple hours when dry will work too.
use rollers. if you put them in while your hair is wet and dry it while they're still in, then they should come out nicely when you comb your hair out.
Stick your finger in a light socket.....couldn't help myself :-)
wet it, gel it, scrunch it:) spray it and keep scrunching then spray again!!
You could put curl-enchancing cream or mousse in your hair then braid it while it's wet. Put some light-hold hair spray on the braids. Take the braids out later and it'll be wavy.
Once you have shampooed put in Mousse or use jell then scrunch for kinks or curls. You can blow dry for fuller waves or just let dry natural.
try rollers, you can buy some inexpensive ones in a drug store,,,,,, roll it when your hair is still damp,,,,,, or pin curl it by rolling it around your finger,,,, then sliding off, and using a bobby pin, pin it up close to your head, braiding it while still damp,, into fairly small braids,,,,all over your head,,,, leaving it overnight,,,, will give you some nice waves
get a lightweight hairspray, turn your head upside down n spray it, then just scrunch it up and flip it back over...worked for me
After you wash your hair braid it in a bunch of braids and let it dry like that. After it's dry take the braids out and then you're hair will be wavy.
um you should buy some hair rollers and set yourhair...if you are an Indian then gel may make your hair look like plastic...your hair is probably too thick to braid and the waves that you will get if you braid your hair will not last more than an hour.... so just buy some small rollers and set your hair.

Use mouse and a small amount of alcohol free gel.

You will be good to go

PEACE
braid ur hair in mini dreds when wet then sleep in it and hair will be wavey
