Best hair shampoo for bouncy, shiny, managable hair?

I have blonde hair, color treated with highlights. Can't seem to find the right shampoo/conditioner for bouncy, shiny hair. My hair is thick, but just lays there... what can I do or use? where can i get it?Best hair shampoo for bouncy, shiny, managable hair?
pantene pro -v?Best hair shampoo for bouncy, shiny, managable hair?
I love Pantene. It makes your hair smell good, too! :)
Dove or Vive by L'Oreal
Try using Tresemme Shampoos, Conditioners, and styling products for color treated hair. It may be a little expensive, but it is worth it!! You can find it at most grocery stores and hair salons, or just ask a sales clerk at the store.
Gabel's fluff shampoo! It is unique! It is awesome! It's available in many scents...lemon fluff, green apple, strawberry, and others... it can be purchase through a beauty supply only. Look in the yellow pages under beauty supply stores, call them and ask them to order it for you! It is heaven!!!!!!!!!!
i like pantene
hmmmm, i would say just try lots of product that protect your hair color or shapoo's that are multi- vitamin

ther good, u can get em frm a drug store
I suggest you go to Walmart and Check out the line of suave hair products they are great thats what I use. you can also check out Your local Avon representive they have a line of hair products that may help.
I use Got 2 Be and my hair is shiny and bouncy or you can use Suave products they work well too.
pantene sleek and smooth gets my vote too

I love suave product it works for all kinds of hair

Should I shampoo my hair everyday with mosturizing shampoo?

Sorry, but Kelly S. has it completely opposite. If your hair is oily, you need to wash it every day. If it is dry, you need to wash it about every other day, b/c too much water exposure will actually make your hair dryer. I'm assuming yours is dry if you're using moisturizing shampoo, so in that case, I would do every other day, but some people with very dry hair can go every 2 days-just make sure you don't wait so long that it looks greasy or dirty.Should I shampoo my hair everyday with mosturizing shampoo?
HEyShould I shampoo my hair everyday with mosturizing shampoo?
It depends on what kind of hair you have. If your hair is oily, I would wash it every other day. If it is dry and brittle, I'd wash it everyday.
is your hair staight of curly is it dyed permed? not enough details to give you a personalised answer
There is no reason to wash your hair everyday unless you have extremely oily hair. Washing your hair strips it of natural nutrients, moisture and strength. So the more you wash it, the more moisture you need to add to it, along with the other things you have washed out. Then if you wash it everyday, are you also blow drying it as well? If so, then you are damaging your hair further.

So.....to use moisturizing shampoo - yes.
no it will get all dry.
every other day

Why does pantine make my head itch so BAD?And is bed head shampoo good for your scalp/hair?

i was using pantine for a couple of months and i noticed my head was itching.so i thought maybe i'd swich.(i dont have lice)Why does pantine make my head itch so BAD?And is bed head shampoo good for your scalp/hair?
Pantine is a wax based shampoo and will cause you hair and scape to dry out. I think you should switch to Sunsilk because it cleans you hair and makes it shine nicley. I know all this because a few months ago my hair dresser told me that since I had the same problem as you. I stopped using pantine and switched to Sunsilk the problem stopped and now my hair is fine.

Good Luck!!Why does pantine make my head itch so BAD?And is bed head shampoo good for your scalp/hair?
I don't know why Pantene is making your head itch..I haven't used it in years but during the time I used it, I never had a problem. Now I use Dove and it is really good! I don't know anything about Bed Head..I've never used it but I might try it soon! I heard it is really good.
BECAUSE!!!!! pantene is a bad shampoo and conditioner to use everyon needs to know this stop buyinh pantene it's full of floor WAX!!!!!!!! bedhead is much better and is realy salon shampoos and what not i use bedhead styling prducts yes bedhead is good for the hair and scalp!!!!!
Suave is the best non salon shampoo/conditioner.
Probably because Pantene has alcohol in it, and it is probably drying out your scalp. Yes Bed Head is good. I would use the Dumb Blonde. Very moisturizing.

My wife is driving me crazy..why would she buy a bottle of some lotion, shampoo, hair spray, etc...uses only.?

about 1/2 of it then get some other stuff. She doesnt finish the old product nor throw it away. Is this normal? We are running out of storage space quick. (BTW, she caught me trying to throw away some of her stuff on the sly so I cant do that anymore.)My wife is driving me crazy..why would she buy a bottle of some lotion, shampoo, hair spray, etc...uses only.?
You made me laugh when you said she caught you trying to throw some things away. My mother is like that. My sister and I went into the bathroom and threw away a bunch of crap that she hadn't used in years. We went back in there an hour later and the crap was right back on the shelf with a yelling match to boot. ^_^

I found that the best solution slowly throw away the older products that she hasn't touched in a while and then work your way up.

............

Okay, so that's not too great of a solution but you could try negotiating with her and asking her if she would go through her products with you and see which ones she actually uses (which if she's like my mom she'll find a use for anything).

Good luck to you.

EDIT: I thought of another solution. You could purchase her Paula Begoun's ';Don't Go To The Cosmetics Counter Without Me.'; I think she would buy less products if she read this book.

http://shop.paulaschoice.com/product/443鈥?/a>My wife is driving me crazy..why would she buy a bottle of some lotion, shampoo, hair spray, etc...uses only.?
LOL.

Perfectly normal.

I've got loads of half-used stuff in the cabinets in my bathroom.

We just like to try new things. I'll admit, it is a bit of an obsession, and we are always trying to find something that works better, smells better, makes us feel better. It's just nice to pamper yourself.

Maybe you could pamper her and she wouldn't feel the need to have so many things like that? Just a thought. Get her regular massages and spa treatments if she likes going to the spa. Then she may not feel the need to try so many new ways to feel good about herself (If that's the reason she's doing it..some of us just like trying new things and buy the latest thing that comes out) ;-)
When my Hubby gets on me about the dozens of half used product bottles and jars in our cupboard I tell him he's lucky I don't collect expensive shoes or jewelry! You are lucky too! What's the harm here? I think most women do the same thing. You might help her out and clear out a shelf that has all your holey tee shirts and ripped up underwear and let her have that space! She'll be so surprised!

So chill out and buy her a sephora gift certificate!
it is totally normal. we all do that
It sounds like she's buying the wrong products. If she hasn't consulted with her stylist (or at least someone well-informed), then you'll be stuck with her half-full bottles until she does!

The problem with over-the-counter products is that there's no guarantee that they'll work for her. A reputable salon will guarantee not only their work, but the products they prescribe and sell. It's a waste of money and space, and can be frustrating.

Have her look for a salon that can actually point her in the right direction - then donate the products she's half-used to a shelter.
Um...your asking if I can explain to you the mystery of the female mind??

I'd have an easier time explaining the theory of quantum physics....

Women are a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.
Haha, your wife sounds just like me! Yes, I think it is normal(well, maybe I'm not normal.....hmmm....) for women to only use half of a product and then find something else they like better. We have a tendency to change our minds alot and get bored with the same products over and over and over! Hope this helps.....and good luck getting rid of some of her stuff!:-)
it's a girl thing!!!we like to make sure we have enough stuff

My sister is a hairdresser and she says Nioxin works really good but you have to continue using it. You should take vitamins too. But my sister always tells me to wash my hair everyother day -- she said it's not good at all to wash your hair everyday since it is good to leave the natural oils in ur hair.

    Hope that helps.
you need to leave the natural oils in the hair in the hair. YOur head is probably stressed. do what your doctor says to do hes the expert and has the schooling to back up what he says

Use any baby shampoo! Its so mild and soft.. Cleans your hair without harming it!

Its better than any women's/men's shampoo!

Afterwards.. use some cologne to mask the smell of the baby shampoo.. lol.Need a shampoo that dosent frizz my hair or make it light?
there are tons available. they vary by location, but look for something all natural that does NOT contain (SLS) Sodium Laurel Sulfate. This causes dry hair which causes frizzing.

My daughter still uses Johnsons Baby Shampoo.
I find Lush shampoo bars very good, especially the one called Shine. It's not animal tested, so it's good all round. You could also try just using conditioner on the ends and avoiding your roots.
    Herbal Essences hun

. u have to get it. goggle it!What is the best shampoo for thick hair?
I have the thickest hair ever, and i've tried every single shampoo and conditioner out there! I've found that the brand VO5 is definitely the best. You can feel it smoothing and softening your hair right on the spot. But it is also pretty expensive, so other then that I think Aussie, Dove, and Pantene are also pretty good. If your hair is dry and thick like mine try using VO5 hot oil treatment on your hair once a month-it does wonders!

I hoped I helped. What is the best shampoo for thick hair?
I'd say out of all, even ridiculously expensive ones, L'Oreal Elvive, the pink one.. use plenty of the conditioner too they work so well together i never use anything different now as i too have thick hair, it makes it shinier and easier to style, thick hair can be hard to manage after its been washed as its almost too clean, this gets rid of that texture and makes its abit silkier and smoother! hope this helps! x
Oscar Blandi shampoo is great. You can order it through sephora. It is expensive $20.00 a bottle but worth it. You can call his salon in nyc he is an incredible hair dresser....He charges 400.00 a cut.He is the hairdresser to many stars. I love all his products.

Hope that helps and good luck.

Ohh, I have thick hair too. I use Herbal Essences-- lately it's been the hydrating one(I think). I straighten my hair sometimes, and it gets so dry. It works for me.
It all does the trick. I have long thick hair and I just have to take care to work it down to the scalp. I use Nexus right now but I am always switching off. It is the conditioner I really get particular about.
I have very thick hair, I use Herbal Essense, it works great, because it lathers up into the roots easy, and overall just works great.

What shampoo should i use to streighten my hair? I swim, my hair is long?

My hair tends to curl at the ends which makes it look messy and uncombed even though its very neat and very combed!! it mostly curles in the front and sides. Now, as a background, I swim, my hair is long, its a little oily but i use hearbal essance clarifying shampoo so its not that much anymore, and its a dirty blonde. Any suggestions on how to keep it stight? Shampoos? Combing? Drying?? Anything???What shampoo should i use to streighten my hair? I swim, my hair is long?
I've recently had malabsorption problems and am not getting the nutrients that help hair grow normally. I've gone through lots of expensive shampoos and conditioners and found that Garnier Fructis Length %26amp; Strength fortifying shampoo (makes hair 5X stronger) and Pantene Pro-V 10-X shampoo (makes hair 10X stronger) work very well. They're relatively low priced and work better than the expensive formulas that I've tried.

Another tip... it seems like washing twice makes my hair less fly away and stronger than washing once and using conditioner. (Don't ask why! Dunno!) :)

I have naturally blonde, oily, very straight, fine hair normally. I've always used shampoos for oily hair in the past but these two work great.

Good luck! What shampoo should i use to streighten my hair? I swim, my hair is long?

My hair is breaking really bad. I've used atleast every shampoo that says, ';helps breaks and split ends.'; But it is still breaking really bad into my hands. I even switched to the ';ouchless'; hairbands which helped some but it still isn't working! Help! What shampoo is better for dry hair? Without breaking my budget.?
Try washing your hair with olive oil, shea butter or avocado based shampoos from an organic store (the regular detergents in ';normal';, non organic shampoos, might be causing it; as well as nutrition). If this still doesn't help and bothers you, you might have a skin problem: go and see a dermatologist

What shampoo is better for dry hair? Without breaking my budget.?
I really like my shampoo....i changed my hair color to a dark brown for about a year....then i jus recently tried to switch back blonde....the bleach and dye made some breakage in my hair. My favorite shampoo is Herbal Essences. I use the shampoo and conditioner. I dont know if you wash your hair before anything else in the shower...but i do. Try by letting your hair get wet for about 5 minutes before putting the shampoo in...and use pretty warm water...not burning you...but pretty hot! Wash it...then rinse....then apply the conditioner...after its all worked into your hair...leave it...do not rinse right away....wash your face...wash your body...shave your legs....do whatever you normally do in the shower but while leaving the conitioner in! Then rinse with the hot water...and once its all out....and your ready to get out...turn the cold water on your hair...it will close all the hair follicles. Also....try not to blow dry your hair...let it air dry if possible for a couple days...itll help your hair rebuild itself!

    Good luck!
You cannot repair hair because hair is basically dead... What I have found is that by taking a vitamin supplement called Biotin and Lysine (two separate minerals) my hair has been growing a little faster than usual. In order to have less loss, you should consider shampooing your hair only 2 - 3 times per week. I also use a fabric hairband because anything that has elastic is going to rip your hair. Treat your hair very gently, like it's made a thin sillk thread, and you may start to notice some slight changes.
i us tresseme anti breakage, but dats cuz i heat stlye my hair and it prevents split end. also wen i condition i leave it in for 5 minures then rinse wit warm water and then wit cold. and u cud always do hair masks like avocado. and o if ur hair is falling out cover it wit, jojoba oil castor oil, rosemary oil, coconut oil, and avocado oil. thy sell thm in tiny botttle at beauty ores sometimes. wam up ll those oils. put it in ur hair and wrap it in a silk wrap or any wrap all tho silk is good.

also give me some good tips of how to keep my hair silky, soft, and shiny i want to beat my friends hair his is way shinier than mines.Which shampoo is better for color haired or dyed hair garania fructis or pantene?
Probably pantene, but its best to use a shampoo that's formulated for colored or dyed hair because it fades really fast with regular shampoo. As for the shiny hair, rinse out shampoo and conditioner with cold water instead of hot.Which shampoo is better for color haired or dyed hair garania fructis or pantene?
I would recommend you to use Garnier because the shampoo is for permed or color treated hair and it does make the color last longer, the hair shine brighter and keep your hair stronger. I have even noticed that my hair grows faster, using this shampoo. It is a truly amazing product. It improved the health and strength of my hair. That fact has made me a loyal Garnier product fan. Garnier sells a matching conditioning product for this shampoo and I use them both. The results are fantastic.

The smell of the shampoo is pleasant. It leaves your hair light and rinses out well. I have to say that the results that I get from this shampoo are wonderful. It is one of the best hair products that I have tried. You will not find another shampoo that performs as well as this one.

Tips for Shiner %26amp; Silkier hair:

Bring instant shine to your hair by lightly beating two eggs in milk and massaging them in your hair thoroughly. Rinse after five minutes.

A little vodka in your shampoo, if used occasionally, can make your thick hair shine instantly.

Yet another way to make your hair shine for blondes is to add two tablespoons of lemon juice in your rinse water after shampooing, while brunettes and redheads can add apple cider vinegar to their rinse water.

Everybody can get a vibrant hair color by wisely using his or her garden products! Brunettes can use handful of fresh rosemary sprigs, blondes can use dried chamomile, orange-tone redheads can use chopped up carrot while berry-tone redheads can use chopped up beet. Boil one quart of water. Tie the suitable ingredient according to your hair color in a piece of doubled cheesecloth and toss it into the boiling water. Remove them from heat and let the water soak the color for about 10 minutes. Then, remove the cheesecloth bag. Shampoo and rinse your hair thoroughly. Pour the color enhancer you have prepared over your hair, while it is warm. Be sure it is not hot. Rinse it finally with a quart of cold water. Do this once a month for that lustrous hair posed by models.

Honey is good for skin and hair. Take 4 cups of warm water and stir 1 teaspoon of honey in it. Pour it into your hair after shampooing and let the hair dry as normal. You don't need to rinse it.

Over-processed hair lose their shine too so be careful nor to overuse all those chemical hair products in the market. Silicone products add shine to hair momentarily but are difficult to wash out causing a buildup that make your hair dull. Vinegar rinse should be used sparingly too or it may dry out your hair.

Cold water rinsing makes your hair look shinier as it closes and smoothens the hair cuticle. To further enhance the shine, you can use a finishing cr猫me during and after blow-drying your hair.

Adding shine to gray hair and keeping them from getting that yellow tint can be difficult. However a professional gloss treatment at the salon seals the cuticle and makes the hair look shinier than ever. It lasts for five weeks.

Heat activated shampoos and weekly deep conditioning for your hair keep them glossy.

    Hope this helps!
pantene will give you soft hair and make your hair apperance look healthy. but it contains sillicone and that makes it extremely difficult for any hair colour or dye to stay in. My hairdresser actually removes akk the sillicone before he dyed my hair. He also advised me not to ever use pantene again. Garnier Fructis is a very good brand its natural and it aslo makes you hair healthy. I would defintitly go with garnier. =]
i would say garnier fructis. i say this based on the fact that garnier has alot of more natural things like apple extract, sugar cane extract, lemon peel, and camella leaf. i personally think the more natural the better, especially for all ready chemically proccessed hair. i dont think using chemical based products on chemically proccessed hair is that good of an idea. if you use the garnier fructis fortifying cream conditioner, moisture wks for dry or damaged hair, that woudb even better. it help and sine and strengthens hair weakened by the dying process.
Pantene is fine, but DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES use it more than a month!

THere is a chemical in it that at first helps your hair and gives it a glossy look, but then your hair gets used to it, and it fries your hair and makes it frizzy!

Garania Fructis is the 2nd best shampoo out there, but if you want the BEST, I suggest Dove, hands down!
It totally depends on your hair type.

The only way to decide is to try them both. Make sure you choose the right type of shampoo specially formulated for your colour hair.
    PANTENE HANDS DOWN.

FAST hair shampoo.. does it work?

I bought FAST shampoo from Amazon a few months ago. I didn't feel it was making my hair grow any faster, but dryer and harder to maintain.

I gave up using it after about a month and just wondered if anyone else has used the shampoo before and whether i have given up too quickly and should wait longer for it to work?FAST hair shampoo.. does it work?
Ive tried it and i find it don't work either..I think sometimes it depends on a brand.. i think it would of started working by now..

    im not sure..

    Hope this has helped

xxxxFAST hair shampoo.. does it work?
Well for one try using Mane N' Tail Horse Shampoo. I use it all the time and it makes your hair grow faster. You can find it at walmart in the pet section. also you should drink plenty of water to condition your hair and when shampooing and conditioning you should use cold or

luke warm water on your hair so it won't damage it. Even hot water hurts your hair.

I think you have more chance taking a herbal supplement specifically for hair growth...ie selenium or something like that...

Can you use curling shampoo on naturally straight hair?

It will wash your hair like normal, but as to actually assisting with the curl, no luck. the chemical in it that makes curly hair come out activates the natural curl.... since you dont seem to have any (I don't either, and I spend SO much time curling, I tried it too! )It wont change your hair at all. usually they are just a little less heavy than regular conditioners, therefore allowing the hair to curl up and bounce. Can you use curling shampoo on naturally straight hair?
if your hair is straight, sorry, shampoo isn't gonna do anything. You can try washing your hair in the am and using mousse. put a big blob in your hand and flip your head upsidedown. start by applying on the underneath then put it throughout the hair. scrunch dry your hair or use a diffuser.

that's all u can do,....sorryCan you use curling shampoo on naturally straight hair?
sure, the people with straight hair can get scammed out of their cash for cheap shampoo that isn't worth the container it's in just as good as anyone else.
No I've just every kind of curling shampoo and they never work. Sucks I know.
Shampoo made for curly hair usually contains more moisture rich ingredients to reduce the frizz in naturally curly hair. Because naturally curly hair tends to be very dry, regular shampoos are too harsh. Curly hair shampoo doesn't actually increase the amount of curl.
    I tried...it doesn't work :(

In your opinion whats the best salon shampoo for very dry damaged hair?

Matrix. In your opinion whats the best salon shampoo for very dry damaged hair?
I`d say Deffo Charles Worthington, but thats only cause ive tried and tested and got results.

My hair was falling apart and very brittle from dying it all the time and after starting on this its now as smooth and sleek as ever. I only wish i had the brains to use it earlier than just the past few years.

Good Luck whatever you choose. Remember and give it around 2 weeks at least per brand if you`ll be trying this or any other product that others have recommended until you find whats suitable for you. xIn your opinion whats the best salon shampoo for very dry damaged hair?
i had extremley dry hair and when i went to a salon just to have it trimmed, they used this really good shampoo on it! its called dermalogica, i think you may be able to get it cheaper from ebay! but it worked like a miracle! my hair was soo silky for the next few days (until my own regular shampoo washed it out lol) but yeh try this stuff, its amazing!
Well, it is important to solve the problem from its root. You need to check as to why hair is too dry plus external solution is not enough you need to look for a good diet or food that will help the scalp with the vitamins and minerals that it needs. When hair problem starts first answer goes ';Lack of Proteins'; vitamins like B 6 but if you have time and the patience look at the diet offered by a website www.ziravie.com.

So do look for internal and external solutions which is 100% Natural
    Definitely Biolage by MATRIX!

Use the Hydrating shampoo and conditioner. Even if you have colored hair, Biolage products are very good for your hair and very hydrating. I use it every time i wash my hair. maybe let the conditioner sit for about 3 minutes at most.

PANTENE is a no no, it will only deposit oils and high amounts of ph into your hair and scalp and in the long run will give you unwanted dandruff, no good.

Treseme and John Freida are ok, but they aren't sold in salons, if you've noticed. Not trying to diss the other people, just trying to answer thoroughly to your question. :)
i'd say biolage for damaged hair/dry hair.

it'll help soften and smooth it within a week.

wash it with the soap 2 times, and condition it

but dont let the conditioner touch your scalp, only

do it on the ends of your hair (:
I would say Kerestase or Redken all soft - I have tried all salon brands and those are they best.

Is it actually bad on the hair when you shampoo it atleast once a day?

It depends on what you're using. It can be bad to not wash your hair every day. There are a few factors.

If you put anything in your hair like gel, or if you spend your day in a dusty environment, you must wash it every day.

If you wash and condition your hair and spend you day working online from home and don't sweat or have greasy skin, it's ok to not wash every day, but don't go more than one day.

If you're worried about your hair drying out, find a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Your best bet though is to go to a salon and ask for a recommendation, most hairdressers can look at you and know what you need.Is it actually bad on the hair when you shampoo it atleast once a day?
no its good for your hair to be shampooed everyday actually its required on most shampoos..it cleans you hair..Is it actually bad on the hair when you shampoo it atleast once a day?
i think that it starts drying out de cuticles

and also ur hair gets greasier which means u hav 2 wash it more which make it get oilier....viscious cycle

    *xxx*
Yes, it is bad because you have to have a certain amount of oil in your scalp. It will cause your hair to dry out really bad. Generally washing your hair 3 times a week is often enough.
no its not bad just dont u se a shampoo for oily hair it`ll dry it out just use shampoo for normal or dry har...
I wash mine daily...I have shoulder length hair.
I'm 54 years old and I have been shampooing my hair once a day since I can remember. My hair is shiney, brown with no grey in it at all. Use a good shampoo.
As long as you condition it after, it's fine.
It depends on the hair. If you have finer hair then washing everyday is probably a good idea because it gets greasy faster. But if you have thick or curly hair washing everyday might dry it out.
yeahh its pretty bad...it takes away all the good oils you have in your hair and possibly make you lose some hair too. You should only wash it a few times a week. I used to have that prob. too
shampoo and cond. every other day but wash evey other day then dont wash every other 2 days
ive never heard that saying... but i hope its not true

    !!!!!
    Hi There,

Well it all depends on the shampoo you use. There are softsoap shampoos which hardly have a bad effect on you hair! So check out the quality first and you wont have to bother much! What say?
No! who told u that who ever told u that must be really dirty if u use the right shampoo its actually good for your hair!
you shouldn't shampoo and condition your hair everyday because it makes dries out your hair and causes split ends to form faster. also your taking away some of the nutrients from your hair by constantly washing it. personally i shampoo and condition every other day.
    No
No its not bad, you can wash every day if you like!

Proper hair and scalp care involves washing your hair regularly to remove the normal buildup of dirt, dead skin cells, oils produced by skin glands, and any other substances you put in your hair such as hair spray, etc. The frequency with which you wash your hair depends on the condition of your hair. Basic guidelines are to wash your hair a few times a week for dry hair, and every day or every other day for oily hair.

If you do choose to wash your hair daily, make sure that you are using a pH-balanced shampoo and only wash it once. If you wash it more than once a day, you will be removing too much of the natural oil found in hair. Of the shampoos available on the market, most contain water, foaming agents, fragrances (often added to mask odors of other ingredients), and various amounts of detergents. Shampoos that are designed for oily hair have more detergent than shampoos for nonoily hair. Detergents can make hair less manageable and cause it to lose body. Shampoos with more detergents may also come with ';conditioners'; which remain on hair even after rinsing, to prevent hair from being completely stripped of oils.

  • So, is the ingredient in shampoo that makes hair healthier the one that stings?

lame question- i know. but i was sitting in the bathroom today, looking at my kids' tear-free shampoo and started thinking, ';why the heck does mine have to sting?'; can't they make a sting free adult shampoo? or would it not be as healthy for your hair? i have 4 young kids by the way- sometimes sitting in the bathroom is the only break i get:)So, is the ingredient in shampoo that makes hair healthier the one that stings?
Yeah, baby shampoo isn't good for adult hair. It's not an ingredient, per se, it's the pH balance. Baby shampoo has the same pH balance as a human eyeball - that's why it doesn't sting.

I play games on my cell phone in the bathroom, LOL.So, is the ingredient in shampoo that makes hair healthier the one that stings?
snotto is close, it's the PH, and it's the alcohol, that makes it sting.
    lmao

they should make it for adults %26amp; others

that is really weird that they think only babies cry

come on, i cry more than babies!!
I use that baby shampoo too. I think they leave all the chemicals out of the tear free shampoos!

Which is a better shampoo for dyed red hair?

Redken Color Extend or John Frieda Radiant Red?

I'm going to dye my hair this color soon:

    http://www.sallybeauty.com/on/demandware鈥?/a>

and I want something that will keep the red in my hair as best as it possibly can, because I know red is a difficult color to hold on to.Which is a better shampoo for dyed red hair?
Ion makes really pretty colors. I use their blonde.

Redken Color Extend.Which is a better shampoo for dyed red hair?
it's VERY difficult!!! I would suggest, if you can afford it, to get it done professionally for the first time and do your touch ups at home. If you have any color in your hair at all, you need it pulled out before the red will even show up, much less stay. as for shampoo, i like aveda. either madder root or color conserve. but DO NOT USE the madder root conditioner, it could potentially turn your hair pinkish as it as color deposits in it. the color conserve conditioner is the way to go. also, get a uv protector spray if you spend any time outdoors.
I am a natural redhead. If you do have blonde hair or a light hair color,I will just warn you that it will not come out right....If you have somewhat darker hair then it should be fine. I have seen people dye their hair red before when they have light hair and it comes out orange...literally lol. I use John Frieda to make my highlight stand out...and it works great with me. But I don't know if it works well with dyed hair. But go with John Fried...AND RED HAIR IS AN AWESOME HAIR COLOR!!
When the red starts to fade, salons sell color conditioner or shampoos. They have red pigment in them, and there are different hues of reds. ex: copper red, red violet etc. A local beauty supply store will have them also.

Can you use Prell shampoo to get vaseline out of my 2yr old's hair?

My daughter got into the vaseline and layered herself and the carpet in her room. I bought Prell shampoo and dawn dishwashing liquid but haven't gotten the nerve to use it on her hair. How do I get it out of the carpet? Can you use Prell shampoo to get vaseline out of my 2yr old's hair?
Personally, I'd use the Dawn. It's very safe and doesn't hurt the eyes much if you get in them. Just be prepared to do a lot of rinsing, because there's lots of suds.

I don't know what to do about the carpet. I'd try calling around to carpet cleaning services to see what they think.

Good Luck!! :-)Can you use Prell shampoo to get vaseline out of my 2yr old's hair?
I am a licensed cosmetologist and I would recommend using Perell shampoo. I would not recommend using dish soap because it is to harsh on the hair. Another think you could try is if you know anyone personally with a cosmetology licenses you could see if they could pick you up a pack-it of a product called MALIBU. How it works is it comes in a smalll package which is powder and you mix it with water and you apply it to the hair and let it sit for a good 15 mins. What it does from there is it releases all off the build up such as vasaline from the hair and it will wash out leaving her hair feeling normal again.

For the carpet on the other had I would recommend calling around to carpet places to see what they say? If you carpet is fairly new I would not try treating it if you do not want to ruin it.
When I got grease in my own hair, the dawn did not work. It was actually a conditioner. If you have any that will make her hair super silky, the warm water will help it slide off.

Be careful using dish soap on the carpet, the suds will be hard to get out and may attract more dirt.

Save the spot till you can find a dry cleaning powder solution.
diswashing soap works, but the vaseline will eventually wear out and your daughter will have a nicely hydrated scalp.

sometimes the treatment is worse then the waiting time. just brush her hair with a nice fine comb everyday.

for the carpet, dishsoap should work, if not then your guess is as good as mine
It would be safe for her hair, just do not get it in her eyes. I would the dawn on the carpet, it should get it out. GOOD LUCK!!!
Uhm, I think shampoo is ok to use on hair...try it out. Let us know what happens.

What to look for in a good shampoo for frizzy, long hair?

I have long brown hair, mostly straight with a little natural wave. After I wash it %26amp; blowdry it, it's very poofy and frizzy, and hard to handle. But then, like the next day it's actually very smooth, shiny, straight, with no poof. BUT by this time, it's very oily at the top. So, I have to wash it everyday to fight the oiliness, but then the poofiness starts all over again. Please give me advice on what kind of shampoo/condtitioner to use, and what to avoid. Should I avoid the ammonium lauryl sulfates, and sodium laureth sulfates, and whatever else some shampoos have? I'm so confused! What to look for in a good shampoo for frizzy, long hair?
Ok well the new herbal essences line has a GREAT line of shampoo %26amp; conditioners for long hair. For the frizziness and the oil, you should also use another shapoo %26amp; conditioner from herbal essences. Its called dangerously straight pin straight shampoo. I have it %26amp; it works wonders!!! If you have a flat iron, you should use that too in the morning. The pin straight shampoo is designed to hold in the heat of the flat iron %26amp; keep your hair straighter, longer. You could also use this shampoo w/o a flat iron. You should alternate shampoos every other day. I would reccomend to wash it every day. Yes, you should stay away from lauryl sulfates %26amp; sodium laureth sulfates as well. Hope this helps. What to look for in a good shampoo for frizzy, long hair?
i have really poofy hair too.

your frizz will be gone, and its not sticky, and not oily.

and if you have curly hair, your not supposed to wash it everyday,

thats why u have oily hair.
so your hair is oily, but sometimes frizzy. Got it. I think u should wash your hair using a shampoo that fights oiliness, then use a anti frizz serum. I recommend Herbal Essences Drama Clean Shampoo and Conditioner, or Charles Worthington Balancing Act. For the anti-frizz product, no one can beat John Frieda Anti-frizz serum. Good luck!
I have the same problem. My hair is really long and curly and super frizzy. I use Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine. It's great. It makes your hair really soft and shiny and it smells great. I use the shampoo and conditioner and the leave-in conditioner to and it makes it moist and soft and healthy. And it's not very expensive!

If you have heard of the product, Cat Walk, they have some really good smellling shampoos and conditioners that are great. They smell amazing and last forever. At Tjmaxx, you can buy them in the bottle that they use at hair salons, (the giant one) -$29.99 a bottle. (HUGE BOTTLE THOUGH!)

I really need some helpWhat shampoo would be good to use for newly highlighted hair ?
i suggest the color care line from biolage. (:What shampoo would be good to use for newly highlighted hair ?
A great one that you can get at any store is L'oreal ColorVive. it protects it from fading/ changing colors. Other good ones are the Born Blonde brand (possibly Frieda?), they have shamp/cond for all highlight colors (red, blonde, etc.)
Matrix has a shampoo that is called.. hydrating shampoo.. it would be good because of the hair being so dry and damaged after highlights

Does cre-c shampoo really work for thinning hair?

Cre-c Shampoo for thinning hair manufactured in mexico.Does cre-c shampoo really work for thinning hair?
If manufactured in Mexico it could be toxic waste and you wouldn't know it until......

Thinning hair needs to be cut short and then you can try some of the products approved by the FDA. There are also volumizing and thickening shampoos that will create a fuller look. Go to a good stylist one time, get a style and ask for advice and product names.

You should also get a physical with complete blood work as you may be mineral depleated or have a treatable physical problem.

How do I get the smell from the Shampoo/Conditioner, Selsun Blue, off of my skin and hair?

I used to go to a barber that OBVIOUSLY didn't sterilize his clippers because I would always get an itchy scalp for a week or so, after going to him. Anyways, I don't go to his shop any more, but had started to use the Shampoo/Conditioner Selsun Blue to assist with my itchy scalp. Now that I don't go to him any more, I have no need for it, but ever since I stopped using Selsun Blue, I have retained a DISGUSTING sulfur odor radiating from my hair and skin!!! I've scrubbed my hair and skin with Dove body wash, Dove bar soap, and even Pantene shampoo, and it still remains. HOW DO I GET RID OF THIS HORRIBLE STENCH?!?!?!? PLEASE HELP ANYONE!!!!How do I get the smell from the Shampoo/Conditioner, Selsun Blue, off of my skin and hair?
go to a shop and get a scented oil that you like. bathe in water but add some of that. after wash it off and see how it works. thats all i can think of. good luck!!!!How do I get the smell from the Shampoo/Conditioner, Selsun Blue, off of my skin and hair?
Mix a bit of liquid Tide and water (very little Tide). Don't get it in your eyes. The odor will disappear with time anyway.
I know what you mean about the disgusting odor. I hate that shampoo. Try using a clarifying shampoo. Or you you could try rinsing your hair with a little apple cider vinegar. I use it to clarify my hair once in awhile. You just need to dilute it with a little water and use as it as a rinse after you shampoo your hair. Don't worry the vinegar smell will go away. Hope I helped you.
I'd sue the old barbar. bastard. this is such an odd situation...i'd call a HAIR PROFESSIONAL and find out PRONTO. If that doesn't work, see a dermotologist. It might not be the shampoo...could be a more serious problem.
use another smell of shampoo and conditioner.
If jumping in the pool is an option I would try that. The chlorine seems to cancel out all kinds of smells especially bad cologne. Good Luck!
Try a clarifying shampoo and conditioner. You probably have some of the Selsun Blue residue still in your hair. This will help get it out. I know a lot of company's make this type of shampoo, but I use Suave. Hope it works!

Bumble and BumbleWhat Shampoo should i wear to control curly hair?
when you say ';control';, i'm assuming you're having problems maintaining the curl in your hair and keeping it defrizzed.

try Aussie Moisturizing Shampoo and Aussie 3 Minute Miracle conditioner. i use it, and i haven't had a bad hair day since... before when i used Suave and John Frieda products! (only brush your hair when it is wet and has conditioner in it, or you'll take out the curl!)

but if you are having serious, finger in a light socket type hair issues, get yourself some VO5 hot oil treatments. they are cheap, you can get them anywhere, and they're one of the best kept secrets in hair care.
I USE ';PALMOLIVE'; WITH HONEY AND MILK, OR WITH APPLE________ for my CURLY hair, it's really good.

    IT CONTAINS VITAMINS!!!
    Try mayonese and peanut butter.
    Pert
use a shampoo and conditioner made for curly hair.

NEVER brush your hair when it's wet. it will break.

comb the conditioner through. rinse then wrap hair in a towel . DON'T rub. just finger comb if you need to and lightly scrunch your curl. you could use a curl defining product if you wanted to. it's best not to blow dry just let it air dry. If you must blow dry use a diffuser on your dryer.
try these tips...... they relle work!!

You can use a color glaze. You apply in to your hair after you shampoo and condition your hair. It adds a hint of color. If you use it evertime you wash your hair you will get the best results. Its called John Freda. I don't know if I spelled that right but you can get it almost anywhere that sells shampoo.

you can use the kind that comes with hair dye. For example I had some that made my dark brown hair black. The shampoo had some dye in it I think

What are some good straight hair shampoos?

I'm hunting for a shampoo that will make my hair straighter. Help me out, folks. What are some good straight hair shampoos?
Herbal Essence...The pink bottle Straight Shampoo :)What are some good straight hair shampoos?
Well, my hair is pretty much naturally straight...

But I've used pantene, sunsilk, and gardiner frutice (all sleek/straight series) Sunsilk and Gardiner are my recent favorites... Gardiner is a little thicker, so I'm thinking of switching back to Sunsilk.

I'd say to go to the store and check out all the products from those manufactures (since they have all kinds of varieties for different hair types and results)

Usually when I use these if I just keep brushing my hair out when it air dries, or if I brush it and blow dry it, it stays straight and I don't have to do much else to it. But of course you can also try straightening irons and hair straightening serums. (All I can say there is that I didn't like the pantene serum)

And don't forget to use 'straight and sleek hair' conditioner with the shampoo :]
It's not about the shampoo, it's about the product. When you get out of the shower, try using Aveda ';Hang Straight'; mixed with some sort of Damage remedy from aveda and blow dry. :) The product's abilities are endless, you'll find something that works for you!

My mom does hair, so i get the Aveda for pretty cheap but it's actually pretty expensive and hard to find in stores. You'd have to get it in a salon, so that's the only bad part..
Herbal Essences-Dangerously Straight. Shampoo and conditioner. Then I use a flat brush. But if you really want to make it perfectly straight Ive listed a website that tells you how.
i have been hunting for a while now just use regular shampoo

    John Frieda and Sedal
I can say that John Freida has a color gloss product that you use between shampoo and conditioner. It actually deposits small amounts of color over time. So if you go brunette, and it starts to dull, you can use the brunette gloss over 3 or 4 days and really give it's VAVOOM back! I have un-dyed auburn hair and I use the gloss for red heads and I notice a big difference after 3 applications!
For colored hair, spend the money and get John Frieda products plus they help add highlights to your color as well so that is a bonus.

My all time favorite is Pantene, always is my best kind but I tried the above this summer and the color looks great but it was dry for me.. Now, Patene has just come out with their own Color Enhancer Shampoo, I just bought it this past Monday and I prefer it b/c it conditions my hair alot more that the Frieda Products. Personal Choice is Patene. Hope that helps :)

I usually always shampoo my hair before i get a hair cut. Yes, sometimes they will ask you if you would like it shampooed but that's totally up to you. I think they shampoo it just so after they finish fixing your hair it will look healthy and clean. (:Do you get your hair shampooed before your haircut?
That is a question that only you can answer for yourself. At my salon, You can get a wet cut (spray bottle) or shampoo, cut and style for more $$$$ But who doesn't like the head massage, very relaxing.
I always shampoo and straighten my hair at home. You can always have the salon do it if it isn't included already for a little more dough.
yup i do...they just ask you if you want it washed or not but most people get it washed , and for some haircuts you have to wet it:)
Before? Never... I always shower and shampoo after a haircut, though.
    yes always

they don't ask me , they just do it!!!!

    Curly permed hair shampoo?

i just permed my hair, and what shampoo and conditioner should i use? what can i do to make it last longer? i need some advice im new to this. THX!Curly permed hair shampoo?
** I like Neways Hair Care products

The dont need much and has no chemicals

www.neways.com.au I thinkCurly permed hair shampoo?
I would go to a Sally Beauty Supply if you have one near you. They have many different things that can be good for your hair. I would definately check out a sulfate-free shampoo.
Actually, your best bet is going to be goldwell products. They make a line specifically dedicated to permed/curly hair. It reconstructs the hair after the chemical service and helps to define and defrizz the curls. Its called Goldwell Curl Definitions - you can either choose the intense formula (for naturally thick hair) or the light formula (for naturally fine hair).
    use redken products
personally i am a fan of panten pro v for shampoo and conditioner but if you just permed your hair i have two options

1.) Soft-sheen Carson has great hair products for all hairs types and styles and they have an amazing line of moisturizers and dry hair treatments which is really good to keep your hair healthy when you do home perms

2.) Use what ever line of products goes with the perm you used this is usually best because the makers of the products knows what ingredients they used, and the effects so most likely they made [roducts to go along with the perm so you could have the best results... hope this helps

What is the best brand of shampoo and creme rinse to buy for damaged long very fine hair?

Totally have to agree with Casca. Redken Extreme is the best thing for your hair. It is going to repair whatever can be saved in your hair. If there are parts that can't be saved, then have them cut off.

Once you get your hair to a decent shape, use Redken's leave-in conditioner faithfully and wear a hat when you go out in the sun. Most of all, only wash your hair every 2nd or 3rd day so that it has a chance to heal without being further dried out. Your hair's natural oils are very important to its health.

Lastly, don't put any color or curling irons on your hair til summer's over. Give it a chance to recover so that you have something good going into the winter. What is the best brand of shampoo and creme rinse to buy for damaged long very fine hair?

Ask a REAL stylist we are there for you!!!!I swear by Redken Extreme made for damaged and distressed hair. That line incudes a product called Anti-snap it is a leave in and it is not very heavy so you won't be waighted down
I found herbal eccences workss with my hair and you about described it so try it it could work and thats the only way to really find out.
samy they sell it at target they have for all types of hair
i use pantene smooth and sleek and use leave-in conditioner from frutise
Ok that is a kinda hard question to answer because almost every person will answer it differently but here is my opinion on the subject. I would recommend a product called Aquage it is a salon product and can't be purchased at the drug store but it is wonderful. As far as shampoo i recommend the smoothing or vitilizing ones. I recommend the healing conditioner you don't have to use a whole lot or if you just want a leave in you can use the equalizing detangler none of this stuff will way your hair down but it will make your hair look better. If you can't find it in your area you can buy a product at alot of drug stores called nexxus it would be the one i would recommend try hydruss shampoo and either nectaress or luxxtress conditioners. I also recommend getting you hair trimmed every 6-8 weeks that is the only way to actually get rid of the damage all the shampoo and conditioner are gonna do is make your hair look better.
Do not use a product from a store, go to a salon. The higher priced products like Pantene tend to be full of wax. On fine hair, it will make your hair look soft and shiny and smooth... for a while... then it will make it look dull and flat and lifeless.. eventually, this wax breaks your hair off!! Cheaper products like suave strip your hair of moisture. This will make your damaged hair dryer and frizzier.

You cannot get rid of damaged hair. You eventually will have to cut it off, but if you keep up good maintanence, you will be able to cut off a little at a time.

Go to a salon. Ask the stylist what kind of products they have for fine hair. Use them.

This is going to probably sound weird, since conditioner tends to make fine hair flat, but get a leave in conditioner. This way you can focus it where it needs to be. Buy a spray in one, and spray it on your ends as much as you need, and a little thru the top to be able to comb it. Never brush your hair when it is wet!! Use a wide tooth comb or pick. Otherwise you will break it more on the ends. Use the leave in conditioner throughout the day on your dry hair if you need to comb it, so it combs out easier.
Lanza-Long hair, I used to hair model for Lanza and thier products are awsome!!!!!!!!
    Marc Anthony Forever Long

    His conditioner is amazing!
    Pantene
depends on how ';damaged'; it is.... if it's too damaged you might just have to cut it off.

i suggest in addition to shampoo and conditioner you use a leave-in conditioner and one of the best things for hair, biosilk.

and NEVER use pantene. it coats your hair in wax that flakes off and looks like dandruff.
If your hair is damaged, cut off the worst part. Fine hair doesn't usually do well in long styles unless you put ALOT of work into it. Try to find a smoothing shampoo. I like John Frieda. You might want to try that new Pantene in the gold bottle...says it will reverse two years damage in 2 weeks.
    Sunsilk hydra tlc or anti-flat

Im brunette, can blonde shampoo make my hair lighter?

My hair is a dark brunette, i want it lighter, but i don't want highlights or hair dye. would blonde shampoo %26amp; conditioner by pantene make my hair lighter?Im brunette, can blonde shampoo make my hair lighter?
i don't know but my mom wouldn't let me dye my hair- my hair used to be brunette . I found this thing called '; SUN IN'; you spray i in your hair then the sun turns it lighter ( or anything heat-related)Im brunette, can blonde shampoo make my hair lighter?
Those shampoos and conditioners don't lighten your hair at all, they just take out the toxins that make blond hair look dull. If you've got some blond natural highlight in your hair then it might help for you but otherwise it will just help your hair look shiny.

The best natural way to get some lightness in your hair is to buy a sun bleaching kit, put it on and spend a day at the beach (OR squeeze several lemons over your head and go to the beach). That's the only way I know of to get lighter hair without dye.
No all it does is apply pigments like shimmer and stuff to blonde hair to make it stand out more.

Mix one tablespoon of lemon juice with a gallon of water. Rinse your hair with the solution. Let your hair dry in the sun. The sun will help lighten it. You can repeat the process daily. The mixture will gradually lighten your hair. When your hair reaches the desired color, you can use the lemon mixture less frequently. Be aware though that the lemon juice my dry your hair out a bit so use some conditioner in the shower!
yes but it will also change the colour and look like a bad dye job and if it is the wrong type it can make your hair either really dry and ratty or extreamly greasy. also if it happents to be blonde s+c but a different colour it will put a gross tinge in your hair of like blue or green.
sun in. it's in the dye section but i use it and it doesn't ruin hair that bad. if u don't like it or change your mind, it fades in a few months. i use it sometimes and it works great. you can use a blowdryer instead of the sun.
No, a shampoo only cleanses and conditions the hair. Shampoo for blondes will not make your hair lighter.

If you want to lighten your hair by natural means, try applying henna on it.
Its going to bring out any highlights in your hair, it might work for you. Highlights would be best tho. Go to someone good so it doesnt look fake.
    Go with Sun In.

I don't know what the best shampoo for your hair is, but I use Suave and it smells soo good. Also it's really cheap!
    joice
weeeelll i use herbal esences with like pommegrante in it.. it works really really well. :)
i like Ives Rocher shampoo and conditioner. Only avalible at their website or mail order though. but you get lots of free gifts:)
dove is the best shampoo over the counter.
i use herbal essences, and it works great. but remember to condition your hair with it. don't use the stuff that says 2 in 1 conditioner and shampoo!! and don't use companies that don't have a high reputation!! they r always bad for ur hair....don't use anything u don't trust. pantene is good too and buy maybelline PARIS versions, and don't go for the cheap scams with models on the front waving their 'silky' hair around...it's probably just a wig!!!

    good luck
I use suave shampoo but you should go get the travel ones and experiment find the one that is best for you.
    MATRIX is the best
well I do know the worst is pantenne some say it's the best but it's been proven it's not good for your hair and it's best to not use the same kind on account of build-up which we all hate =)

just switch to a few different kinds and which ever one you like the best use the most but remember to switch them on and off you don't want your hair to have build-up.... =)

Dove is good and herbal essence and suave on the cheap side which is what I happen to be on!!!

Is Suave shampoo bad for your hair?

I always buy cheap shampoo because I go through it so quickly.

Is it damaging my hair?Is Suave shampoo bad for your hair?
I use the Suave Naturals conditioner and I read an article once that their Suave Naturals line is actually good for the hair since it doesn't have silicon which is damaging for the hair in the long run. So yeah, I think it's a very affordable and good hair product line. And if it's recommended for not having silicon, it probably doesn't have other bad stuff either. Is Suave shampoo bad for your hair?
I haven't tried the shampoo, but the Suave coconut conditioner works great :) I use it as a deep-conditioning treatment.

Suave conditioner doesn't really work if you just put it in then rinse it out.

I shampoo my hair then, dry my hair so that's it's still damp a little, then I put alot of it all through my hair then put a shower cap on, then leave it on for 30-60 mins. Then rinse it out :] It leaves my hair really really soft.

You'll never know if you'll like it until you try it. Different things will react to different people's hair. So what works for them, might not work for you, so just look around and see what YOUR hair likes.
I dont know if its bad for it or not. I can only speak for myself. It dries my hair out SO badly. Even the conditioner. I rinse and its like there was never any conditioner applied. Hmmph. Oh well. lol

Tresemme is pretty good and pretty inexpensive.
yes i have researched that suave has cheap chemicals to save money and make it smell nicer NO suave is good including the naturals.

    it also dries your hair
Since I don't know what your hair looked like before your started using it or after, no one can say. You would have to be the judge.
Yes, because it dries your hair and there is no oil based botanical's in there.

    Hope we answered your question:D
yeah, Its not the best shampoo out there
